As it must, soon, the sun will set on this battle. By then, they will know well and truly the forces that they have tried to suppress. Every single means to stop us will have failed. Even their attempts to secure their most important assets away from the strongest of us have failed. Nothing can stop us. Nothing will break our united front.

This is Zero. The Neo Black Knights, united with our fellow Manhattanites have gained control of the USS Pinnacle and USS Threshold. A large fleet of ships is headed our way from the northwest. They must not be allowed to damage any of these carriers! They are all critical for our survival! All who can must destroy them! We will attack in waves to keep our collective strength up. Those who cannot fight may support those returning from battle exhausted. Those with more technical expertise have much they can do as well. Contact me via our radios in Manhattan for special instructions.

Ladies and gentlemen of Manhattan,

I have said in the past that the monsters that threaten us come from outside of these islands, not from within. The monsters of which I speak of course, are tangible, human, not the intangible, yet very real monsters of hatred, prejudice, and unrest. However, there has been one monster that has been terrorizing certain members of the population for some time. Among his innumerable crimes are kidnapping, multiple counts of assault, and attempted murder.

This particular individual is Birdman, the Galerian.

Earlier this morning, he answered for these crimes, in the only way such an individual possibly could. He was executed by lethal injection. His exceptional physiology was taken into account, thanks to the aid of Dr. Pascalle.

Some of you may rest easier, now, Manhattan. One threat has been addressed. However, the Neo-Black Knights will not rest until every individual that threatens the peace of this city is addressed. Some will not require such measures, and I look forward to Agent Brea's cooperation with those individuals.

For proof, all you need do is ask, and it can be provided. The justification stands for itself.

Things never stop being interesting around here, do they? There's so much going on it can be difficult to keep up with. But I hope no one minds a diversion. I find myself in need of a fresh chess opponent. I understand there have been a lot of fresh arrivals since I last sought one out.

I hope the people that typically use the Bryant Park Hotel kitchens don't mind if I go and help myself to the facilities for part of the evening. I'll try to keep out of the way, for the most part.

Proceed immediately to 6th and Greenwich and aid in the evacuation of all civilians from the immediate vicinity.

When the area is clear, B group will proceed to Madison Square Garden to await further orders. R group will proceed to St. Patrick's Cathedral. K and N groups will proceed to the Bryant Park Hotel. All groups will be on standby until the new target formerly known as Andrew Basil moves. Any further status updates will be made via the usual secure radio channels. P group will remain near the site on reconnaissance. Report in with any changes in status. When it moves make your transmission via public and private channels.

To the rest of you, keep your heads held high and do not panic! Stay alert, and prepare yourselves and your loved ones and neighbors to evacuate depending on the direction in which the new monster chooses to make its path. If any aid is needed due to injury or other exceptional circumstances, do not hesitate to bring it to my attention, or to any member of the Neo Black Knights. We will do everything in our power to ensure that you receive the help you need.

I would also like to express the utmost condolences to the friends and family of Andrew Basil. The safety net has failed, and for that I'm sure I speak for the Healers when I say that we regret this failure, and that we will take steps to ensure that it does not happen again.

Now is not the time for factions and rivals. Now is the time that we come together and use our combined strengths to overcome this even greater challenge. Of course, anyone wishing to join the Neo Black Knights in their fight is more than welcome.

I would like to wish a warm return to our kidnapped friends. Rest well, all of you. Your strength has been tested, but not found wanting.

This is the miracle of which I speak. The one we have come together and created is only the beginning. We will not stand for those we hold dear being torn from us, and we will no longer stand being kept from our homes.

We have overcome this hurdle, the greatest yet with our combined power. Our captors should quake with fear with what we will yet be capable of.

I don't think I've slept that well in quite some time. It's very good to be home again. I'm beginning to feel more like myself.

I guess some thanks is due to those that laid so much on the line to get us home. I'm beginning to see how large an endeavor it was, and it's really incredible that so much was done for our sake. Perhaps there can be a shift in the status quo.

But, unfortunately, it would seem a friend of mine has returned to where she came from. It is just as well, she is probably better off there than here. First my brother, then a fellow Student Council member. I should be happy they've returned to a friendlier place, but this hotel room feels empty right now.

It's hard to know who to trust anymore. People disappear, people turn out to not be whom you expected. Things are never what they appear to be on the surface.

We appear to have a situation on the southern portion of the island, involving large amounts of water being kicked up by the monsters, flooding the area neighborhoods. Civilians should leave the area.

K1, K2, take your men and see if anyone needs our help. Appropriate supplies may be found in the storage facility located at 1430 Broadway. K1, I expect you can guess the unit number. I am unable to be on the ground with you, but do keep me abreast of the situation.

Is anyone else experiencing difficulties with the computer systems right now? I was trying to work on a paper I know one my teachers will be expecting of me when the whole machine shut down, and I lost everything. And if this posts this time, it'd be the third try.

Is it just the Bryant Park Hotel, or is it something else?

Ladies and Gentleman, one of our caretakers has cut a path across the southern portion of the island. the most notable damage is to New York University. I believe this is the home of our dear Team Science? If those individuals would make their status and whereabouts known here, we can create a plan how to proceed.

Well, it would appear that my test has worked.

I have installed several call boxes in the city. Currently, they are in the lobbies of the Mansfield, Bryant Park, and Library hotels. If an individual runs into trouble, either home-brewed or courtesy of what we have come to call crabs, this alert will notify those that may be inclined to come in to the rescue.

Seek out the black boxes. All you need do is press the button.

For this to be successful, it will rely on the cooperation of those capable of helping to respond, such as those rebuilding One Police Plaza.

This is just another step on the path we must take, residents of Manhattan. We must lift up and support those that need it most to ensure our survival.

First, I would like to welcome Her Highness Third Princess Euphemia li Britannia to this Manhattan. I'm afraid we may not have suitable lodgings for someone of your standing, but I'm certain we can make do.

Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, my younger brother isn't feeling well. He hasn't since we got into a fight with some of those monsters. If someone could come look into it, I would be very grateful.

Greetings, residents of Manhattan! Too long have I watched you all struggle to survive in this battle with elements orchestrated by clumsy, yet effective puppet masters. Effective, because they have succeeded in keeping our best and brightest, and even someone such as myself here, separated from those we love, admire, and depend upon!

Too long have they kept our strings moving, pulling us this way and that. It is time to cut those strings. And we will do it with a blade they themselves have given us. I have watched their messages, and this forgotten scrap will prove their undoing. Their hubris is at an end.

So I call on all who will come, to meet me at the 50th St. station, on the corner of 50th St. and 8th Ave. at 7 a.m. on January the first. This will be a beginning of a new era for us all.
